Browsing and Purchasing Products

In this section we will first discuss how to find products to order. Then we will walk through the ordering process.

Finding a Product

To start, press the “Browse/Order” button on the top menu (see below). This will present the web pages that allow you to order or search for products.

There are three different ways that you can use to search for products. They are:

  1. Using the “Search” box to enter a code, description, etc,
  2. Reviewing your “Favourites”, and
  3. Using the Menu on the left hand side of the page to navigate through the many product categories that we maintain.

We will go through each of these in sequence.

Using the Search box

In the upper left corner of the page is an empty box with the word “Search” underneath it. Position your cursor in the empty box and type in anything that you would like to search for. That could be a description, Vendor name or Rose Delta product code. Then either press enter on your keyboard or move your mouse to the “Search” button and press the mouse.

In the above example, the words “hanging file folders” had been typed in.

Reviewing your favourites

One of the features our website allows you to use is to mark commonly ordered products as “Favourites”. You can see on the above screen shot that beside each product is a button with the word “Favourites”. If you press this button beside a product it stores this item as one of your favourites. Then when you go to order or search for a product you see the items you have marked as your favourites. (see below)

Navigating by Menu

The last way that you can search through the products that we offer is to use the menu on the left hand side of the page to look for products. We have tried to group these in a logical menu so that it is easy to follow. There can be several “levels” of menus under each main menu item. To save your place, it is best to press the name on the menu to lock in where you are.

In the example below we searched through Art Supplies, then proceeded to Paint before finishing the final level of the menu looking at the colours and sizes of Liquid Tempera paint that we offer.

This type of searching allows you to look at all of the products we offer but requires you have a steady hand as you move through the menus. It is easy to move your mouse over a menu option you did not intend to touch.

Adding products to your Shopping Cart

Once you have found a product that you would like to order you need to add it to your shopping cart.

There are two different ways to do this. For the casual user you can find the product you would like to add, enter the quantity that you want to order in the box beside the product and press the “Cart” button. This will add the item(s) to your shopping cart and show the total value in your shopping card at the top of the page.

In the example below, I added 10 boxes of Chalk Pastels to my shopping cart.

Check Out and Finalizing the Order

Once you have selected all of the items that you would like to order, press the View/Checkout button at the top right hand corner of the screen (see above). This will take you to the first of three screens that you need to complete to finalize the order and submit it to Rose Delta.

The first screen displays in detail all of the items with quantities and prices that you have selected. If everything looks fine you can press the “Checkout” button. If quantities for some products need to be updated, change the quantities and press the “Update Cart” button. If you need to add products to the shopping cart before signing out, press the back arrow button in the upper left hand corner of the screen, add the products that are required and press the “View/Checkout” button again (see below). To remove items, put 0 in the quantity.

Once you have pressed the “Checkout” button you will be asked to confirm your order (see below).

Press the OK button and you will be asked to confirm the billing and shipping address for the order. If your account is setup as a part of a School Board, the school boards address will be the default for the billing address. You will need to pick from the drop down box the shipping address for the school. If you have your own account, the billing and shipping address will be the same. Once you are satisfied that the billing and shipping address are correct press the “Continue” button under the Shipping Address box.

The last screen in the order process, the “Checkout” screen requires that you enter two pieces of information (your PO or order number) and the email address that will be notified when the order is sent to our system. The third box, the one in the middle, allows you to provide any optional information you would like us to be aware of in filling your order. Examples might include “We are closed on Monday, April 12 for a PD day”, “Please ship this to the attention of Mrs. Smith”, “Please mark the boxes for this order as ART SUPPLIES”, etc. It is optional and can be left blank if you would have no specific instructions.

Once you have entered all of the required information and are ready to place the order, please press the “Create” button. This will create the order and notify the email address entered the order has been sent to Rose Delta.

Currently we are unable to process create card orders. Once this is functional you will be advised.

Once you press the “Create” button you are taken to the final screen. There are only two options on this screen. The first allows you to finalize the order. To do this press the “YES” button. If you need to make a change, press the “NO” button and you will be returned to previous screens so that you can change your order or instructions appropriately.

Congratulations! You have finished your order. The screen below will pop up showing that the order has been completed and indicate who the confirmation has been emailed to.

The following email will be send to the email address you provided in the order process.
